Dr Paul Malpass, of Taumarunui, MNZM for services to health
Dr Paul Malpass was a specialist General Surgeon and Public Health Physician. He served multiple terms at the Waikato District Health Board, where he advocated for rural health needs. He consulted in public health and general surgery, including a three-month tour in East Timor. He was the Chief Medical Officer of the Bay of Plenty District Health Board. He was the inaugural Head of the Bay of Plenty Multidisciplinary Clinical School, and assisted in its development. He served as Clinical Director of Taupō Hospital, Lakes District Health Board. Dr Malpass was a member of the Waikato Consumer Council and served on the Taumarunui Oranga Tamariki Care and Protection Resource Panel.
