Mr Richard Balcombe-Langridge, of Auckland, MNZM for services to business
Mr Richard Balcombe-Langridge took over Metropolitan Rentals, founded by his father, and has developed it into one of the country’s largest independent vehicle rental companies. He has successfully managed several major redevelopment projects across Auckland. He has bought and renovated residential and commercial properties. He has contributed to the tourism and hospitality industry, including as owner of the Surrey Hotel. Through his private vintage car museum, one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, he has supported community causes. He was a Crown Director of Auckland International Airport and a member of the Auckland City Council Property Board. Mr Balcombe-Langridge has supported Trees for Survival, a Trust empowering environmental restoration.
