Mrs Nicky McArthur, of Kaikōura, MNZM for services to conservation and the community
Mrs Nicky McArthur owns Puhi Peaks Station, home to one of only two breeding colonies of the endangered Hutton’s Shearwater seabird. She was founding Trustee and Deputy Chair of the Hutton’s Shearwater Trust. She has funded and participated in several studies with scientists and the Department of Conservation.
Under her leadership of the Kaikōura Dark Sky Trust, the area achieved the accreditation of International Dark Sky Sanctuary. She is a member of the Kaikōura Water Zone Committee and Director of the Kaikōura Seaward Lions. She was a committee member of the Friends of the Christchurch Arts Festival and a Trustee of Waihi School. Mrs McArthur is a Mayfair Theatre Trustee
