Mr Neville Greenwood, ONZM of Christchurch, for services to the sheep industry
Mr Neville Greenwood was one of the pioneers of breeding Poll Dorset sheep and has significantly improved the genetics of the breed worldwide. He was an early adopter of DNA testing and gene marker-assisted breeding technologies. He pioneered on-farm sire ram sales, transforming breeder accessibility to elite genetic lines. He has been a member of the Young Farmers Club and the New Zealand Sheep Breeders Association and chaired the Poll Dorset Association. He is a Life Member of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association. He has been with the Ellesmere A&P Association for 50 years, including time as President. He has judged at the Royal Shows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth and at the Australian National Poll Dorset Show and Sale. Mr Greenwood is President of the Ellesmere Lions Club.
