Mr Keith Wiffin, of Wellington, KSO for services to survivors of abuse in care
Mr Keith Wiffin has supported survivors of abuse through the Crown claims processes with various government agencies, including the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). He has fought for redress from MSD since the early 2000s, which included being the subject of surveillance by Crown agencies for his advocacy work. He has provided evidence to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions, from his experiences at Epuni Boys Home and in an abusive family home placement. He has been a Board member of Te Roopū Toiora Trust, a national collective of abuse survivors. He is a member of the Royal Commission Forum, the Survivor Advisory Group of Experts, and the Crown Response Unit’s Redress Design Group.
