Mrs Sharon Williamson, of Auckland, ONZM for services to hockey
Mrs Sharon Williamson has contributed over 30 years to hockey in New Zealand. She coached youth representative and senior women’s teams at North Harbour Hockey Association (NHHA) and chaired the Board of NHHA. She was a Trustee of the Harbour Hockey Charitable Trust (HHCT), and chaired the National Hockey Centre Governance Group, playing a pivotal role in the development of the $50 million National Hockey Centre in Albany. She was Chair of Hockey New Zealand, and established a national governance network for hockey association chairs. Her international advocacy has strengthened Hockey New Zealand’s presence globally and renewed international hockey governance relationships. Mrs Williamson received a Gold Service Award and the Pakistan Trophy from Hockey New Zealand, and was awarded the Sultan Azlan Shah Award by the International Hockey Federation in 2020.
