Mrs Adrienne Jansen, of Porirua, ONZM for services to writing and publishing
Mrs Adrienne Jansen is an award-winning writer, publisher and community advocate, and co-founded the Porirua Language Project for Speakers of Other Languages. She founded New Zealand’s first full-time creative-writing course at Whitireia Polytechnic, which has produced award-winning authors. She has written or edited over 20 books, and her work has featured in various publications. She has also written for major exhibitions at Te Papa Tongarewa. Mrs Jansen has run group workshops for new migrants and people experiencing homelessness. She actively supports the Whitireia Publishing Programme and co-founded the publishing houses Escalator Press and Landing Press, promoting both novice and established writers. For the last ten years she has led Landing Press, which is committed to the principles of diversity and inclusiveness.
