Inspector Ross Grantham, of Palmerston North, ONZM for services to the New Zealand Police
Inspector Ross Grantham’s most recent role was Manawatu Area Commander. During his career, he was involved with high-profile investigations and operations, utilising advances in forensic sciences, DNA identification and immunohistochemistry. He developed a programme of investigative interviewing, regularly tutoring at the Royal New Zealand Police College, and at national and international investigation forums. As National Manager Interviewing, he led changes regarding interviewing practice, while also supporting investigations as National Crime Manager. He represented New Zealand Police overseas, delivering homicide investigation courses in South Australia. He introduced handheld video to interview family harm victims, and contributed to a framework for standards expected of new constables. Inspector Grantham was President of the Friends of the Police Museum during a significant museum overhaul.
