Mrs Sue Breen, of Rolleston, KSM for services to gifted children education
Mrs Sue Breen created Small Poppies programmes for gifted preschool children, and developed workshops for parents of gifted preschoolers. She also established a programme for gifted children in low decile South Auckland schools. She has been National President of the New Zealand Association for Gifted Children and a Board member for GiftEDnz, a professional association for teachers working with gifted children. She was director of the New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education and director of the George Parkyn Centre for Gifted Education Trust. She currently works with Canterbury Explorers, running club day sessions and Small Poppies classes.
