Yeverley McCarthy, Wanaka, QSM, for services to the community
Mrs Yeverley McCarthy has been involved with a number of Diocese of Dunedin projects in Wanaka and the Upper Clutha Agricultural and Pastoral Society. Mrs McCarthy was the foundation Chair of the Holy Family Catholic School and its Building Committee after the Diocese of Dunedin purchased land to construct a primary school in 2004. After the school was opened in 2006 she chaired the Board of Trustees until 2011. She has been involved with the Wanaka Church since 1978 as canter and organist. She organised the first Aspiring Art Award in 2008 and has continued to oversee the event. She has previously been President of the Upper Clutha Plunket Society, past President of the Hawea Flat Play Group and Chair of the Hawea Flat School. Mrs McCarthy opened the Serendipity Charity Shop in 2009 to raise funds for Wanaka community groups.
