David Ivory, Christchurch, MNZM, for services to education and the community
Mr David Ivory has contributed to education and entrepreneurship as a facilitator of Young Enterprise teams through Saint Thomas of Canterbury College and through his involvement with school boards and education initiatives. He has seen his Young Enterprise teams win many awards, including seven National Excellence awards as well as the Lions Foundation Young Enterprise Team of the Year in 2004 and 2010. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Kingsley School and McKenzie Residential School. He is a member of the University of Canterbury Council. He is a board member of the Howard League for Penal Reform and the New Zealand Edmund Rice Social Justice Trust. Mr Ivory is President of the Canterbury Workers' Educational Association and is a member of the National Governance Group for the New Zealand Federation of Workers' Educational Associations. He has received a number of awards including the Fulbright United States Department of State Award in 2008.
