Christopher (Chris) Carson, QSM, Upper Hutt
For services to the State. Mr Chris Carson was the Project Manager for Pipitea House, a new $120 million Government Communications Security Bureau Head Office, commencing in 2006. The building co-locates a number of New Zealand intelligence agencies and facilitates a more effective exchange of information. He has also managed a smaller project to build a records archival facility at a cost of $2.5 million. His efforts in managing the Pipitea House project and the archival facility have been highly regarded by the New Zealand intelligence community. Along with these projects, he has continued in his role as the Chief Financial Officer of the Government Communications Security Bureau, which he has held since 2000. Mr Carson is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Wellington Branch Committee, and the Not-for-Profit Sector Advisory Committee. He has been on the judging panel for the not-for-profit and tertiary annual report awards for the past three years.
