Henry Ngapo, QSM, Wanganui.
For services to education. Mr Henry Ngapo has been a teacher for 44 years. He has been a Principal for 37 years, the last 23 of which have been at Aramoho School in Wanganui. He has completed a Bachelors degree, a Masters degree and a postgraduate diploma in education, while continuing to teach. He has been an active member of the local Principals’ Association and the Māori Principals' Network. He helped establish and held executive positions on the local Māori branch of the Aronui Tomua, Area Council, of the New Zealand Educational Institute. Mr Ngapo was New Zealand’s last Fulbright-Hays Award exchange teacher to the United States in 1982 and 1983. He has served on the reference group for the Sarjeant Art Gallery.
