Dr John Carnachan, MNZM, Auckland.
For services to medicine and the community. Dr Jock Carnachan has been a general practitioner in Royal Oak in Auckland for more than 30 years. He was a medical officer for the Auckland Commonwealth Games and served in Vietnam with the New Zealand Medical Corps. He is a past Vice President of General Practitioner’s New Zealand and served for many years on the Auckland Regional Disciplinary Committee of the Medical Association. He is a longstanding member of Auckland Grammar School’s Headmaster’s Council. He is a trustee of the Butland Medical Foundation and the RD Butland Medical Trust and is a trustee and board member of the Rose Hellaby Medical Scholarship Trust. Dr Carnachan is renowned for the level of care he provides to his patients, his deep sense of humility and his medical acumen.
