Lindsay Burnell, Levin, QSM, for services to the community
Mr Lindsay Burnell has had continuous involvement in local government in Horowhenua for 37 years. A former Horowhenua County Councillor, and later Horowhenua District Councillor, for 33 years, he is currently a member of the Horizons Regional Council. He is a member of the Electra Trust, formerly the Horowhenua Electric Power Board, a position he was elected to in 1972. He has been a member of the MidCentral District Health Board for ten years. He has been involved with the Horowhenua Agricultural and Pastoral Association for 50 years at all levels. Mr Burnell is highly regarded in the Horowhenua area for his strong dedication to the Horowhenua community, including the local Māori community. This has included his active involvement in sporting organisations, school boards, and the Ohau Hall and Domain Committee.
