Greg Gent, Ruawai, ONZM, for services to the dairy industry and corporate governance
Mr Greg Gent has worked in dairy industry governance roles for the past 18 years. He was one of the four negotiating Directors involved in brokering the successful deal leading to the formation of Fonterra. He showed outstanding leadership as he guided first Northland Co-operative Dairy Company, then Kiwi Co-operative Dairies, and then the New Zealand dairy industry towards the eventual formation of Fonterra. He has held a position on the Fonterra Board, by farmer shareholder mandate, for the past 10 years. He is also currently on the Northland District Health Board, is a Director of the Southern Cross Group, and is Chairman of Farmers Mutual Group. Mr Gent also currently holds the voluntary position of Director on the Equestrian Sports New Zealand Board. He is well regarded for his style of steady, selfless leadership, and his tireless advocacy for Northland farmers.
