Professor David Lamb, Wellington, ONZM, for services to health
Professor David Lamb was the founding Chair of the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group, a voluntary position, and has continued his involvement in various positions ever since. He has been Principal Investigator in many of the randomised trials conducted by the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group, and is noted for his involvement in trials on accelerated radiation for advanced head and neck cancer, and androgen deprivation, with radiation treatment for advanced prostate cancer. He is a prostate cancer researcher for the Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and was previously Head of Radiation Services for the Capital and Coast District Health Board. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 1982. Professor Lamb was a member of the Mary Potter Hospice Foundation Board, and has been involved with the Cancer Society of New Zealand for more than 20 years, including a term as Vice President.
