Jordan Luck, Auckland, MNZM, for services to music
Mr Jordan Luck is a singer and songwriter whose songs have become iconic, especially through their continued playing at major sporting events such as the Rugby World Cup. He was the singer for the band 'The Exponents' for 30 years and has written and performed 18 Top 40 singles in his career, more than any other New Zealand artist. He penned the hit songs 'Why Does Love Do This To Me', 'Victoria', and 'I'll Say Good Bye (Even Though I'm Blue)'. He now fronts 'The Jordan Luck Band'. He freely offers his time to a number of charitable organisations and has performed many charity concerts, including raising money for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal. Mr Luck is ambassador for Parkinsons New Zealand, KidsCan Charitable Trust and mentors young and upcoming songwriters with the Play It Strange Trust. In 2007 he became the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame's first inductee.
