Kevin Brady
Kevin Brady, of Wellington, received the Insignia of a Companion of the New Zealand order of Merit for public services, lately as Controller and Auditor-General. Mr Brady served in the state sector for more than 30 years. He joined the Audit Office in the Department of Inland Revenue in 1971, were he held a number of roles. In 2002 he was appointed Auditor-General and remained in the position for seven years. As Auditor-General he undertook a number of high profile investigations, including Transend, the New Zealand Defence Force acquisition of light armoured vehicles, the changes in the taxi industry and the conflicts of interest at the Auckland District Health Board. He was Auditor-General for Niue and the Tokelau Islands. Mr Brady served as the Secretary-General of the South Pacific Auditors-General organisation for 15 years and was instrumental in helping to develop and train staff from the 22 member countries and states.
