Henry Williams
Henry Williams, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to entertainment. Mr Williams was once described by the late Sir Howard Morrison as “the finest baritone in New Zealand light entertainment”. Born and raised in the Cook Islands, Mr Williams became a household name from the 1960s to the 1980s for his singing appearances on radio and television. He was a member of the Howard Morrison Quartet, and worked with many other New Zealand entertainers, including Inia Te Wiata, Billy T James, Ray Columbus and Prince Tui Teka.
