Diane Brodie
Diane Brodie, of Christchurch, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the theatre. Mrs Brodie has worked as a volunteer in musical theatre in Christchurch and New Zealand for more than 35 years. She held numerous positions in the former Christchurch Operatic Society, including 11 years as President. Under her guidance the Society, now known as Showbiz Christchurch, has been transformed from an amateur theatre group into a semi-professional organisation, with a substantial asset base. She created a strong voluntary team to carry out behind-the-scenes work for more than 50 shows, including productions of Cats and Miss Saigon.
