Diana Valentine
Diana Valentine, of Wanganui, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Ms Valentine has been instrumental in the development and leadership of support services for senior citizens in the Taihape district for more than 15 years. She was involved with the establishment of Care and Craft for 10 years and then Older and Bolder, which co-ordinates and organises social activities for senior citizens. She was a driving force in the Taihape Community Health Group, which has improved the availability of healthcare professionals. She was an advisor to the steering committee for the establishment of Ruanui House, a residential elderly care home. Ms Valentine was Chairperson of the Taihape and District Medical Trust, and was a trustee of the Wanganui Community Foundation. Ms Valentine serves on advisory committees for the Whanganui District Health Board and the Whanganui regional primary health organisation.
