Carol Moffatt, Kaiapoi, QSO
For services to education. Mrs Moffatt spent 41 years in education as a teacher, secondary school inspector, and Principal. From 1998 to 2003 she was the manager of the first ICT strategy for schools for the Ministry of Education. This project involved many initiatives, including ICT professional development for teachers, Laptops for Teachers, and Project PROBE – encouraging broadband coverage to all of New Zealand. From 2003 she worked on the Early Childhood Education ICT Framework, which was launched in April 2006. In 2009 she was appointed as the project manager of the Greater Christchurch Schools Network. She has been Director of the Research, Education, Advanced Network New Zealand, from 2005 to 2010, and has been a board member of the Correspondence School since 2008. She is a director for CORE Education, and a Commissioner for the Library and Information Advisory Commission. Mrs Moffatt has previously received the insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
