For services to business. Mr Kerr became the founding Executive Director of the New Zealand Business Roundtable, a public policy think tank, in 1986 and has held this position for 25 years. Under Mr Kerr’s leadership, the Business Roundtable has achieved a domestic and international reputation for the quality of its research, its principles and arguments. The Roundtable organises the prestigious annual Sir Ron Trotter Lecture, which attracts many top international experts every year. Mr Kerr has shown a commitment to education through many publications produced by the New Zealand Business Roundtable, and the recent sponsorship of ‘The Big Social Issues’ debates. He is well known for his willingness to engage in debate with anyone, in any forum, in the interests of pursuing the right solutions. He was a Director of the Electricity Corporation and a member of the Council of Victoria University.
