Jacqueline Vaughan
Jacqueline Vaughan, of Wellington, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to speech, drama and the community. She charges a minimal fee and often pays the speech and drama examination fees for her students if they cannot afford them. She has directed plays, including A Tribute to Meri – The Life of Suzanne Aubert. She has been a long time member of the Khandallah Arts Theatre, where she has been involved in all aspects. She was named as the Best Female Actor in the national final of the Festival of Community Theatre. Mrs Vaughan has been a member of the Khandallah Thespians (a play reading group) since 1973 and has contributed to other community organisations, including the Catholic Women’s League.
