Thomas Mackenzie
Thomas Mackenzie, of Wellington, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Mr Mackenzie has been a member of the Society of St Vincent de Paul for over 35 years and was president of two parish groups. He is a member of the Wellington branch of The Hearing Association and has volunteered at the Suzanne Aubert Compassion Centre Soup Kitchen for over 20 years, and been a board member. He is an executive member of the Wellington Returned Services Association and was the president of the Kilbirnie RSA. He co-ordinates the Kilbirnie street day appeals and was an executive member and volunteer roster organiser at the Wellington night shelter. Mr Mackenzie was a member of Age Concern for 13 years and made a life member in 2001.
