Michael Rielly, of Auckland
Michael Rielly received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to baseball. Mr Rielly was instrumental in the establishment of the New Zealand Baseball Association, now known as Baseball New Zealand, and has served on the New Zealand Baseball Federation Committee. In 1989 he established the City Blues Baseball Club, the first baseball club in New Zealand. His coaching career at both junior and senior levels spans more than 20 years. In 1995 he was appointed National Coach and coached the New Zealand Senior Men's team at the Olympic qualifiers for the 1996 Atlanta Games. In 2009 Mr Rielly coached the winning New Zealand under-14 team at the National Regional Championships in Australia and recently coached the New Zealand under-13 team at the Asia-Oceania World Little League Qualifying Tournament in Indonesia.
