Vivien Chisholm
Vivien Chisholm, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music. Mrs Chisholm began her career with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in 1969 as a trainee ‘cello player and became a fulltime member two years later. Until her retirement in April 2010, she was a role model for young and emerging players, fostering their careers through her role as a trustee and secretary of the Michael Moynaghan Young Musicians Foundation, and the Alex Lindsay Memorial Award Trust. Mrs Chisholm played on the international stage, having been an exchange member of the Dusseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
