Roslyn Jerram
Roslyn Jerram, of Opotiki, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Mrs Jerram has been on the local Plunket committee for 50 years and was the president of the local IHC for more than 30 years. She has served on the Ashbrook Primary School Parent Teacher Committee, was a Girl Guide leader for more than 15 years, and is a voluntary remedial reading teacher at Opotiki College. She has been working as a volunteer social worker since 1976 and is a founding member of the Opotiki Community Centre. She was involved with the Opotiki Budget Advisory Service for many years, and set up the only Total Money Management Budgeting Service in the Eastern Bay & Rotorua district. Mrs Jerram received the Open Minds Project Award for Respect in 1999 and an Opotiki District Council Award for International Year of the Volunteers in 2001.
