Colin Gunn, Nelson, QSM
For services to the community. Mr Gunn has been active in the voluntary sector in the Nelson area for 30 years. He is the former Director of the Nelson Community Education Service and was involved in the establishment of the Community Worker Training and Support Trust. He helped establish the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Manuka Street Play Group, and the Health Action Trust. He specialises in helping groups in difficulty and wrote the community work handbook, Seizing the Moment. He had a central role in developing the Nelson Social Wellbeing Report in 2004 and was co-author of a report for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority on the recognition of prior learning.
