John Carter, Wellington, MNZM
Dr Carter is a haematologist who has contributed to his field for more than 20 years. He is an Associate Professor in haematology at the Wellington School of Medicine and was instrumental in the establishment of the Wellington Cancer Centre. He has supervised many postgraduate students and regularly receives the 'Best Teacher' award from undergraduate students. He has also been involved with the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, where he is a trustee and research consultant. Dr Carter is a member of many professional medical organisations, including the Health Research Council, the Blood Transfusion Service, and the Cancer Society’s Wellington Division.
