Olive Webb
Dr Olive Webb, of Hororata, received the Insignia of an Officer of the NZ Order of Merit for services to people with intellectual disabilities, on 3 September 2008. She was a key advocate for the deinstitutionalisation of patients at the Sunnyside Hospital and Templeton Centre in Christchurch and was involved in the introduction of the Intellectual Disability Compulsory Care & Rehabilitation Act in 2003. Dr Webb has also been a member of many professional health committees and boards. She was the national president of the New Zealand Psychological Society and the founding president of the New Zealand Association for the Study of Intellectual Disability. Dr Webb is a member of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, and a member and deputy chairperson of the Canterbury District Health Board.
