Tony Gibbs
Tony Gibbs, of Auckland, received the Insignia of a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit at an investiture ceremony on 31 March 2009 for services to business. Mr Gibbs has been involved in business as a leader and mentor for more than 25 years. In this time he established trans-Tasman relationships to create value in exports, employment, and investment returns to many New Zealand citizens. He has been a director of more than companies and has been committed to the development of New Zealand companies such as Turners, ENZA and Fletcher Forests. Mr Gibbs was instrumental in Guinness Peat becoming the principal sponsor of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, which contributed significantly to its European tour in 2005.
