John Cronin
John Cronin, of Tauranga, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit at an investiture ceremony on 3 April 2009 for services to local body affairs and the community. Mr Cronin has devoted many years to the community of Tauranga. He served as a councillor of Tauranga District Council, and a member of the Tauranga Committee of the Local Government Reform in 1989. He is as a regional councillor and chairman of the Environment Bay of Plenty Regional Council. He is the chairman of the Regional Land Transport Committee and a director of Port Tauranga. Mr Cronin is the honorary accountant for many clubs in the Western Bay of Plenty region and is closely involved with Grey Power, organising free financial advice clinics for senior citizens in Tauranga.
