Lorna Anderson, Otautau, QSM
For services to the community. Mrs Anderson has made a strong voluntary contribution to the communities of Drummond and Central Southland. She has been a member of the Drummond branch of Rural Women New Zealand since 1962, serving as Secretary and President. Through this organisation she instigated the restoration of the Drummond War Memorial. She helped compile a History of Drummond, first published in 1980, and is working on a revised edition. A registered nurse, she co-ordinated a fundraising campaign for the people of Drummond to support Southland Women in buying a mammography machine.
