For services to sport. Miss Kitchen has played at the highest levels of squash in New Zealand and internationally. She has won numerous titles, inspiring others to participate in squash and to constantly strive to improve their game. She won the World Doubles Championship in 2006, gained Commonwealth Games Silver and Bronze Medals in 2006, and has won a number of international championships. As a successful New Zealand sportsperson Miss Kitchen has used her profile to inspire and provide direction for younger generations of athletes. She was named Māori Sportswoman of the Year in the 2005 Māori Sports Awards.
