Peter Harrison
Peter Harrison, of Auckland, received the Insignia of a Companion of the Queen's Service Order for services to education. He was chair of the board of King's School for 20 years and chair of Independent Schools of New Zealand since its inception in 1992. In 2001, he was appointed as the commissioner of the Endeavour Scholarship Programme which offers scholarships to disadvantaged children. He was chair of the Living Values Trust and trustee and treasurer of the Anglican Schools Board. Mr Harrison was also instrumental in the establishment of the Motutapu Restoration Trust; a learning centre for sustainability for Auckland students involving the use of Motutapu Island, and is the chair of its funding arm; the Motutapu Foundation.
