Nicholas Wilder
Reverend Nicholas Wilder, of Otahuhu, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Reverend Wilder has been the Chaplain at King's College for more than 20 years. He organises the community service programme at the school and has extended its services to involve more than 600 students. The students regularly visit a variety of organisations in the South Auckland area, including rest homes, provide administrative support at Middlemore Hospital, and read to children in hospital wards. The students provide support to the Mangere Refugee Centre, by organising sports for the children at the centre. Reverend Wilder also initiated the chapel's outreach programme to sponsor schools in Africa and the South Pacific.
