Nigel Gould
Nigel Gould, of Wellington, received the Insignia of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of merit for services to business and the community. Mr Gould has contributed to business, education and the community through his professional and voluntary membership of many organisations for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Wellington Harbour Board for nine years and as Chairperson oversaw its transition into the port company, Centreport, which he lead as Chairperson for 20 years. He also chaired the transitional committee that established the Wellington Regional Council. He was President of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce and the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce. He played a role in the merger of Wellington Polytechnic with Massey University and served on the Massey University Council for more than 10 years, including six years as Chancellor.
