Bryan Benton
Bryan Digby Benton, of New Plymouth, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Mr Benton has been immersed in the New Plymouth community as a volunteer with a number of organisations for 50 years. He was a volunteer facilitator at the Taranaki Restorative Justice Service for a number of years, where he organised meetings between victims and offenders. He has been active with Riding for the Disabled for more than 15 years and the Taranaki Branch of the Territorial Army Association for more than 20 years. He is an active member of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club. He mentors at-risk youth through the Big Brothers and Sisters Programme. Mr Benton is a member of the Taranaki Justice of the Peace Association Council, and is involved with the New Plymouth Pony Club and Spotswood Primary School.
