Anthony Timpson, of Westmere
Anthony Timpson received the Insignia of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and the community. Mr Timpson has contributed to the New Zealand business community, notably the wool and meat industries, for more than 50 years. He established the Cavalier Carpet Corporation, which is internationally recognised and employs about 500 people in New Zealand. He was the Chairperson of Richmond Meat and the Director of the New Zealand Wool Board and the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand. Mr Timpson established The Independent business newspaper in 1991. He supports the Hearing House charity and many other Auckland organisations.
