Geoffrey Clatworthy, of Remuera
Geoffrey Clatworthy received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the community. As well as being successful in business, Mr Clatworthy has done significant volunteer work. He has held various senior roles in the New Zealand Cancer Society in the last 25 years, including as President from 2006 to 2009. In his role as Chair of its Finance Advisory Committee, which he held from 1995 to 2002, he worked towards expanding the Society's financial capability thereby increasing the funds available for research. Mr Clatworthy also served as the foundation Director of the Society’s trading arm, Daffodil Enterprises. Along with his voluntary work for the Cancer Society, he is a Justice of the Peace and has been President of the Auckland Racing Club Committee, Chair of the Young Enterprise Trust and President of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. He is known for his leadership skills, sound judgement and generosity as well as his ability to assist struggling organisations out of their difficulties.
