Marie Stratford, Auckland, QSM
For services to the New Zealand Police. Sergeant Stratford served with the Bougainville Community Policing Project in 2008 and 2009 as the Community Auxiliary Police Advisor in the remote Arawa area. During her deployment, she developed and implemented significant improvements to the programme in Arawa, including designing, planning, and delivering a Community Auxiliary Police recruit course. The course resulted in 37 new officers being appointed, of which 18 percent of the attendees were women, many from remote regions of Southern Bougainville.
