For services to the community. Mrs Singh has worked for 38 years advocating for women’s and children’s rights and works to support the settlement of South Asian communities in South Auckland. She has been a volunteer for Victim Support, and the Citizens Advice Bureau, as well as being a Community Advocate for the Indian community. She is a translator for the Counties Manukau District Health Board, and has been a Justice of the Peace since 1994. Mrs Singh also organises support groups for Punjabi women living in isolation.
