Hamilton and Inez Kingi
Hamilton and Inez Kingi, of Rotorua, received the Insignia of a Companion of the Queen's Service Order for services to the community. Mr and Mrs Kingi have continued to serve Te Arawa and Ngāti Whakaue in many roles. He was the Chairman of the Tipu Ora Charitable Trust, a member of the Te Utuhina Manaakitanga Trust and the Te Arawa Kaumātua Council. He has also been the kaumātua to the Te Ao Marama Māori Dental Association and the Alcohol and Liquor Advisory Council and an advisor to the Minister for Senior Citizens. Mrs Kingi was involved in the establishment of the Tipu Ora Charitable Trust in 1991, which has recently become a training establishment. She was the president of Te Ao Marama Māori Dental Association, president of the Māori Women’s Welfare League, and the national coordinator of the Tipu Ora Charitable Trust. She was also a member of the Marae Heritage and Facilities Committee of the New Zealand Lotteries Commission.
