Elaine Moffatt
Elaine Moffat, of Lower Hutt, received the Insignia of a Companion of the Queen's Service Order for services to women and the community. Mrs Moffat has been a member of Soroptimist International and the Lower Hutt Soroptimist Club for more than 25 years. She was involved in the Wellington Suffrage Centennial celebrations and has represented New Zealand at many Soroptimist International conferences. She has chaired the Soroptimist International meeting of the Federation of the South West Pacific. She was selected to be the New Zealand representative on the Soroptimist International Strategic Planning Group, which consisted of a representative from each of the four international Soroptimist Federations. She oversaw the Halt Family Violence project in Papua New Guinea. Mrs Moffat was an advisor in the rebuilding of Lamreh Village after the Boxing Day Tsunami. She currently chairs the Te Omanga Hospice board and has done volunteer work at the Academy of Fine Arts, the Dowse Art Gallery and the Belmont Play Centre.
