Mr Stuart Crosby, ONZM of Papamoa, for services to local government.
Mr Crosby was Mayor of Tauranga for four terms. He has been an elected representative at local government level for many years, serving as Chairman on various committees and a period as Deputy Mayor of Tauranga. He has represented the Metro Sector on the National Council of Local Government New Zealand. During his term as Mayor, he was involved in the response to the grounding of the cargo ship Rena on the Astrolobe reef, New Zealand’s worst maritime environmental disaster. Mr Crosby is a Director of Rotorua Regional Airport Ltd and a former Director of Tauranga City Investments Ltd.
