Jacqueline Barron, of Mosgiel, MNZM, for services to sports governance and education
Ms Barron is Principal of St Hilda’s Collegiate in Dunedin. She managed the Silver Ferns netball team to win gold at the Commonwealth Games, the Black Ferns to win the Women’s Rugby World Cup, the Southern Steel netball team to win two national titles, and the New Zealand U21 netball team in two World Youth Cup campaigns. She sits on the Board of Sport New Zealand, and she held a community development role at Sport Southland. She was Principal of Woodford House in Havelock North and Deputy Principal of Gore High School. Ms Barron hosted a New Zealand symposium on teaching and raising girls in the 21st century.
