Annie May Ballantine, of Auckland, QSM, for services to the community
Annie May Ballantine has been a member of the New Zealand Federation of Women’s Institutes since 1940. She served as President of her local Women’s Institute in Warkworth for several terms and later as Secretary, before stepping down in her late eighties. She has fundraised for charities such as the Warkworth and Wellsford Hospice and has contributed many hours to sewing hundreds of white calico dolls for doctors to use in explaining medical procedures to child patients. Mrs Ballantine is an active member of the Warkworth branch of the Red Cross and the Warkworth RSA.
