Tracy Phillips, of Auckland, MNZM, for services to the New Zealand Police and the community
Tracy Phillips spearheaded the New Zealand Police’s Tac Comms programme, developing and delivering a ‘train the trainers’ course. She is Coordinator of the Pan Auckland Police Horse Group and has organised mounted horse patrols at various public events. She has been a strong advocate in supporting the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex community’s relationship with the New Zealand Police. She initiated the ‘Paint the Cells’ project at Counties-Manukau District Custody Unit, enlisting local artists to brighten conditions for staff and detainees. Inspector Phillips ran an operation to repatriate New Zealand deportees from Australia, following changes to Australian legislation that meant 585 New Zealanders faced deportation.
